Tibetan “Home”

Tibetan “Home” is about the Tibetan refugee community in Dharamshala, India. The film is researching the amount of cultural freedom the Tibetans have there. Topics that are being addressed are: how the Tibetans came and still come to India, what their status is in India, followed by the main question of the film: how do they preserve their language and culture?
To answer this question we’ll go to The Tibetan children’s village, a school where 2000 Tibetan orphans are educated in the Tibetan language; and to the Norbulingka Institute: an art institute where the following Tibetan arts are being preserved: Thangka painting, appliqué, woodcarving and statue-making. Besides visiting these two institutes the Tibetan parliament in exile, the Tibetan museum and some locals will shed a light on this topic.
Is Dharamshala a good or welcome substitute for a “home”?
